Implant, Cosmetic & Family Dentist Serving Aurora, Centennial, Parker, Green Valley Ranch & Nearby Areas of Colorado
It has transformed dental care, offering precision and convenience for patients in Aurora, CO.
Gone are the days of inefficient procedures, goopy impressions, and more appointments than necessary. Digital dentistry and technology in Aurora, CO, have revolutionized the field of dentistry and Highpoint Dental Care and Implant Center is all in. With the integration of intraoral scanners, digital film, 3D (CBCT) radiographs, 3D printers, modern CO2 lasers, in office laboratory, same-day crowns, and a dental team who is at the top of their field, we can provide accurate diagnoses, efficient treatments, and improved patient experiences. Additionally, digital records and electronic health records streamline administrative tasks, enhancing the overall patient journey.
For those of you who can remember bringing a roll of Kodak film or disposable camera to the store for processing photographs, dentists too use to develop small films of their patients’ teeth. These small films were hard to read and sometimes over or under developed. With the advent of digital radiographs, patients are exposed to less radiation, the time to process the radiographs is instant, and the quality of the images share greater detail. All of these factors allow our office to give safe, efficient, and exceptional care.
Innovations like CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) systems have also revolutionized restorative dentistry, allowing for the fabrication of crowns, bridges, and veneers in a single appointment, saving patients time and reducing the need for multiple visits. Our office uses the best intraoral optical scanners to obtain an accurate image of the teeth, tissue, bite (occlusion), and mouth borders. After scanning prepped teeth or tissue, our dental technology can produce crowns and bridges, dentures, nightguards (bite splints), whitening trays, and even athletic mouth guards. The accuracy at which we do so is more accurate than the old technique of using impressions which shrink when set and stone models which expand when set.
Our patients can expect more personalized, efficient, and comfortable dental care, ultimately leading to healthier smiles and improved oral health outcomes.
When dentists are planning for more complex dentistry or require more detailed information beyond a 2 dimensional radiograph, a 3 dimensional radiograph may be required. Highpoint Dental Care and Implant Center has the most advanced 3D cone beam computer topography (CBCT) to help in diagnosis, review of complex structures (joints, sinuses, nerves), mapping root canals for individual teeth, and dental implant planning. Our Carestream 8200 CBCT 3D Scanner captures high-quality images in both 2D and 3D and its software allows for exact planning of crowns, bridges, and implants. This technology accurately maps anatomy, limits exposure to radiation, offers faster and safer dental visits, and provides the end result prior to our dentists beginning treatment. We can take accurate images in as little as seven seconds using half the radiation as the standard scanners. With the implementation of our 3D CBCT our talented dentists will be able to provide more dentistry services without referring you to outside imaging centers or specialists. You will have fewer appointments, faster treatments, and ease of care with this technology.
The old version of dentistry takes weeks, months, and years while digital dentistry and our in-office lab take minutes, hours, and days. Our intraoral scanners make it possible to record teeth and tissues in real time. After preparing teeth for crowns or bridges with our experienced and gentle dentists, our staff is able to record the position of these prepared teeth in relation to the opposing teeth to create the most accurate imagery. With someone who has or needs a denture (someone who has no teeth), the scanners can recreate duplicates of the denture with modifications made to improve the current design or scan the tissue for fabrication of a new one.
After these scans are made, our in-office lab technician spends time designing and modifying them to build the final product, which can be done in a few short hours while the patient is in the chair or with a few days time between appointments. Having an in-office lab also allows for our talented staff to do custom shades for difficult to match teeth and customizing other requests that would be impossible for offices that send their work to a outside labs away from their office. Using our 5 axis dental mill, we can create either lithium disilicate (e.Max) or zirconia crowns and bridges. This mill also can create a custom nightguard or TMJ splint to help with clenching, grinding, or TMJ pain.
All of our 3D scans can be converted into a physical model using our Formlabs 3D printers. These printers can help us to create a replica that replaces old stone models with less time and material. These models help patient’s understand their complications, help create Smile Design, Same Day Crowns, print the entirety of Dentures create night guards, and aid in surgical planning.
Physical models are still needed in dentistry and as the field of dentistry progresses in technology, 3D printing will be at the forefront. Highpoint Dental Care and Implant Center not only has the ability to scan, but also manufacture all the dentistry that goes into a patients mouth. From the beginning to the end, having control of the time and materials required to provide dental care simply makes it higher quality, more convenient, and more efficient.
